Dialogue undertakes a range of planning studies as well as contributing to a range of infrastructure projects seeking RMA approvals through consultation, communications and social impact assessments. These studies range in scope from national tourism strategies through city transport and development planning to assessments of business feasibility and development proposals, and monitoring and evaluation studies.
Energy Scenario Studies
Long term strategic planning has now gone out of fashion in a number of quarters, strangled by Adam Smith’s “invisible hand”. Murray Ellis and Peter Phillips played a major role in scenario planning in the 1980s and 1990s in the electricity industry using a sophisticated 31 sector input-output model of the New Zealand economy.
New Zealand Planning Institute Strategic Planning Workshop
A workshop was held with the NZPI Council in December 2008 to focus and structure strategy development for the NZPI. The outcome was structured using a Logical Framework Analysis.
