Research, consultation, planning, communications

A new six kilometre long, four-lane motorway from Westgate to the Greenhithe Bridge will have intersections at Trig Road, Brigham Creek Road and Buckley Avenue. The new motorway and links will relieve congestion on Hobsonville Road (SH18) and other local roads, open up the area for development, and improve access between Waitakere and North Shore Cities. The three kilometre long, two-lane extension to Brigham Creek will reduce traffic next to the busy Westgate shopping centre and provide a more direct route north.
Construction of the $220 million project is due to begin in September 2008 and is due to finish in 2012. Environmental protection measures include temporary and permanent stormwater ponds to filter sediment and run-off from construction and then the motorway when in operation; and noise mitigation. A new Clarks Road footbridge will incorporate urban design elements. Structures also include “wave” retaining walls.
Dialogue is providing communications services to the project. Peter Phillips is the Stakeholder Liaison Manager with responsibilities for developing the communications plan, oversight, and quality assurance.
